Shirley Zhou, C.Ht, M.MER, M.NLP
Director & Mindset Coach
Shirley Zhou is the Director of Mindbody Wellness Centre, a Registered Yoga Teacher, and a Certified Nutritionist. Mindbody’s integrative and multidisciplinary approach to wellness originated from her educational background and years of experience within the health and wellness industry. She created it to offer the community a space that integrates the body, mind and heart, to see the person as a whole instead of parts.
Shirley is also the Co-founder of The Burnout Clinic and she brings her expertise in burnout intervention and recovery to Mindbody to support the overwhelmed and overworked professionals in Markham.
In her private coaching practice, Shirley guides leaders who are under high pressure achieve work-life balance and regain control over their lives. Many of her clients struggle with high levels of stress and anxiety, self-doubt, self-worth, self-confidence, boundary setting, imposter syndrome and managing the never-ending to-do list. As a result, they hold a lot of their tension in their body, over occupied in their headspace and has disconnected the mind-body-heart. As a Board Certified Master Practitioner of Mental Emotional Release® (MER) and Empowerment Coach, Shirley brings a therapeutic psychosomatic practice to the Mindbody Wellness Centre. Using an integrative approach, she guides clients to experience rapid pain-relief using multiple techniques and targeting the root-cause of the problem. One can expect results, practical self-empowerment tools and laughter when coaching with Shirley.
In all of her work, Shirley believes in bringing individuals to wholeness, to achieve their physical desires, mental strength and emotional freedom and live a more harmonious, vibrant and joyous life.
Yvonne Gao, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Yvonne is a Registered Massage Therapist who is passionate about helping others recover from pain to move freely. She uses a variety of techniques such as trigger point massage and lymphatic drainage massage to meet her clients’ need to relieve pain and increase mobility. Yvonne’s goal is to ensure each client’s massage needs are provided within a friendly, professional and relaxed environment.
Maggie Lin, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Maggie is dedicated to her client’s health and well-being. She helps clients release tension and discomfort using a variety of techniques such as Swedish massage, Hot Stone massage, joint mobilization, advanced massage techniques, Deep Tissue massage, Prenatal/Pregnancy massage, Sport massage, Lymphatic Drainage, and Trigger point therapy. Her treatments will help alleviate pain and reduce stress and other symptoms.
With this diversity of training, she is able to ensure every client receives a massage that is customized to their specific needs. Maggie believes she can help clients to release stress of the body and mind. Her goal is to ensure each client’s massage needs are provided within a friendly, professional and relaxed environment.
Angel Pan, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Angel is a Registered Massage Therapist who provides relaxation and rehabilitation massage depending on her clients’ needs. She is experienced in reflexology, Swedish massage, trigger point therapy and deep tissue massage to relieve tension and discomfort from one's shoulders, necks and lower backs. Angel is dedicated to giving her clients’ both a relaxing and healing experience.
Anne Shi, RMT, DO(MP)
Registered Massage Therapist, Osteopathy
Anne is a Registered Massage Therapist that loves her work, to help people to reduce pain and stress. She specializes in pain release such as frozen shoulder, joint pains, sciatica and lymphatic drainage massage. When a patient walks in painfully and walks out with relief and ease, she feels immense joy.
Rose Wang, RMT, R.Ac,
Registered Massage Therapist, Registered Acupuncturist
Rose is a licensed massage therapist and acupuncturist. Some of her therapeutic areas of expertise include prenatal care, headache relief, incontinence improvement, promotion of a healthy digestive system, and Parkinson's tremors enhancement. She also massage infants aged 2 months and up. Her hobbies are Qigong, Tai Chi and meditation.
Sonia Shao, R.Ac, R.TCMP
Registered Acupuncturist,
Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Sonia Shao is a Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac) and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCMP) with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario and has been practicing acupuncture and cupping therapy for over 15 years.
Sonia is one of our dedicated practitioners with good service skills that help clients restore their health and well-being through Traditional Chinese Medicine. Sonia’s caring personality helps people who are nervous about needles feel calm on their first sessions. Thus, clients will feel relaxed, have better sleep, good digestion, and an overall sense of well-being days after the treatment.
Sinae Won, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Sinae is a Registered Massage Therapist who is passionate about improving others' positive feelings through her massage therapy techniques. She sees taking care of physical health and wellbeing as an important part of an individual's self care.
She uses a number of techniques including relaxation treatments, trigger point massages and hot stone treatments to help her clients improve their muscle health. With all of her skills and techniques, Sinae aims to share positive outcomes and reduce pain and tension. She hopes to help clients reduce the impact of their stress, relax and feel at peace.
Jagravi Jadav, PT
Resident Physiotherapist
Jagravi is a Resident Physiotherapist with a Bachelor's Degree on Physiotherapy and a Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion.
Jagravi’s main approach is manual therapy. She takes the time to fully understand what her clients are experiencing and search for ways to assist them even after their appointments. For her, it is a privilege to be part of her patient’s recovery.
In her free time, Jagravi enjoys exploring Mexican restaurants, watching movies and spending time with her family.
Dr. Zahra Mashayekh, ND
Naturopathic Doctor
Dr. Zahra specialised in Obstetrics-Gynaecology during her studies and had training for pelvic ultrasound, and basic and advanced laparoscopic surgery. She was motivated to take up her field due to personal experiences with poor diet and lifestyle as well as having gone through surgery and medications. After her 19 years of Ob-Gyn experience in Iran, she moved to Canada in 2015. She had the opportunity to study Naturopathic Medicine in the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in 2017. She expanded her knowledge in herbal and traditional Asian medicines, nutrition, lifestyle and nutraceuticals.
Zahra finds great joy in helping her patients, especially women, resolve their health issues with her expertise in both medical and naturopathic contexts. Her patients range from children, teenagers going through puberty, and women dealing with age-related concerns such as cardiovascular disease and menopause. The best moments in her life are family gatherings, being in nature and when her patients are happy, healthy and satisfied.
Jody Levac, Ph.D., CHE, RSW
Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist
Jody Levac is a seasoned healthcare practitioner and is a Registered Social Worker in Ontario. He holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Laurentian University and a Doctoral Degree in Healthcare Administration ( Arizona). He was the Director of Mental Health and Officer in Charge of the Psychiatric Facility at Southlake Regional Health Center, overseeing the entire Child and Adult Mental Health programs. He was awarded Clinical Leader of the year in 2010. Dr Levac is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Stevenson Memorial Hospital and holds a dual professional license as a Certified Healthcare Executive.
Before this work, Jody was the lead for the Peel Crown Court Project addressing numerous challenges of domestic violence, trauma, grief, and loss. He has significant experience supporting individuals who have been impacted by crime, violence, serious mental health, family, and legal challenges. He has extensive training in a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic therapy. He completed a Basic Clinical Psychiatry extern at the University of Toronto and is well versed in all aspects of the Mental Health Act. He also completed Leve1 and 2 divorce/family mediation at the University of Toronto. He has supervised and guided many professional disciplines such as Occupational Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work and Psychologists. He has mentored numerous physicians during their training in Family medicine. He has undertaken training in specific crisis modalities and has provided Critical Incident Stress Debriefing for both private industry (banks, police, paramedical) and for the Ministry of Labor. Jody is well experienced in coaching high-level executives to helping the most marginalized of society. He has a unique understanding of stress, depression, mood disorders, personality challenges and anxiety.
Jody believes one of the key elements to healing is the strength of the psychotherapeutic relationship. Jody brings compassion, 35 years of healthcare and system knowledge, and a desire to guide people to recovery and strength. He is a sought-after lecturer, University Professor, and has repeatedly been the keynote address at Laurentian University’ annual convocation. Jody has a 35 years history of public service and has numerous media releases on healthcare governance, mental health and major Capital Planning.
Sheril Green, RP
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Sheril passionately supports individuals and families of all ages throughout their life journey. She comes from a diverse professional background and is a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying), a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario and has a Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. Sheril also has a background in teaching and has been a children’s ministry coordinator for more than 15 years. She believes that instilling faith at an early age is an important component in preparing to cope with the challenges of life.
Sheril brings valuable experience to her clients from her work with individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Throughout her many years in the healthcare field, Sheril has worked with anxious young adults and struggling parents, as well as caring for depressed geriatrics. She is compassionate, collaborative, and caring as she helps her clients through their challenges, thereby enabling them to function confidently with a new perspective. She believes that everyone has inner strengths, despite preconceived beliefs. Sheril uses an integrative approach, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, as she empathically guides clients towards their goals.
Natalie Han, MSW, RSW, RP
Master of Social Work,
Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist
Natalie is a Registered Social Worker at the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Worker (OCSWSSW). She finished her Bachelor of Social Work degree at the University of Victoria and her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Toronto (majoring in mental health and health).
She has been working and practicing in various settings and providing psychotherapy and counseling sessions to clients across ages and from diverse backgrounds. She has been working with people experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, emotional distress, academic and career difficulties, etc. During her MSW practicum, as a peer supporter, she had provided counseling services to undergraduate and graduate students, at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus, who were going through mental health issues, relationship difficulties, academic concerns, loss, transitions, and racism/discrimination.
Natalie also got her bachelor’s degrees in engineering and Arts from Beijing Union University and Tsinghua University in China, traveling to Mainland China, Asia, and Europe and working with clients. Interdisciplinary study and work backgrounds in China and Canada and immigration experiences are assets and have deepened her understanding of life, herself, and others.
She is dedicated to creating a genuine and warm connection with her clients and believes in clients’ strength and resilience, integrating eclectic approaches of Trauma-Informed Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy.
Natalie is fluent in English and Mandarin.
Jadae Young
Senior Wellness Advisor
Jadae enjoys going for walks or long drives, and spending time with her friends. For her, self-care is making sure you’re doing okay mentally, physically and emotionally. It can be doing things such as, getting a manicure, a new hairstyle, doing meditation, etc.
Sarah Petrus
Wellness Advisor
Sarah's interests are vast but she feels they are all encompassing. She completed post-secondary studies in Biology, English, and Visual Critical studies of Art. Finding connection between science, health, and art is her passion. Sarah has found a passion in health. Helping and learning from others is another way she grows in her passions, hobbies, and mindset. She lives each day with the foundation of mindfulness.
Serena Li
Wellness Advisor
Serena Li is currently an undergraduate student majoring in business management. Her passion lies in connecting with clients, emphasizing the importance of a holistic lifestyle, and giving back to her community. During her moments of self-care, she enjoys rejuvenating facials, getting a manicure, doing pilates and baking. She believes wellness is the foundation of a happier lifestyle which allows individuals to thrive and achieve their potential in all aspects of life.
Cecilia Vong
Wellness Advisor
Cecilia is currently a co-op student from St. Brother Andre Catholic School. She believes that self-care means setting aside time from our busy lives to do the things we love in order to rejuvenate. For her, this means reading fiction novels, listening to music, learning to play new instruments, and spending quality time with her friends.
Yasara Liyanapathirana
Wellness Advisor
Nanduni Yasara (Sara) is currently a postgraduate student at Lambton college. She loves all things creative and likes reading. She personally enjoys nonfiction books over fiction.
For Sara, selfcare is having moments of highest bliss, listening to her body and mind and being aware of her feelings, taking a step back to relax or as simple as having a good cold shower. Sara prefers to spend time alone to unwind. Meditation and a good sleep are her go-to ways to recharge.
Ged De Guzman
Marketing & Administrative Coordinator
Ged believes in giving value to self-care and personal time wherein she can do the things she loves and would make her feel better. As a first-time mom, she enjoys the little moments, like having her morning coffee, taking time in the shower and getting a massage once in a while. Ged believes that if we are able to take care of ourselves and have a positive disposition, we would also be able to take good care of our loved ones.
